Something new
For many years I've been loyal to Moleskine calendars. I can be ridiculously picky when it comes a calendar: "I don't like the feel of this paper", "the columns aren't wide enough" etc. Moleskines have been satisfying so far but this year I decided to give a chance to something new. After some decoration it's starting to feel like my own... And from now on I'll be aware of the Finnish name and celebration days once again :).

Dear Santa...
I made a little wishing list of things I don't need but are sweet. What I really asked for Christmas is a respirator mask (you might wonder why but try painting with oil paints and solvents x days a week and soon you'll know...), a shell suit for jogging and a new coffee pot for our Mocca master (the current one is missing a piece) :D.
But let's drop the rationality for a moment.
New Lappish shoes would give joy for years ahead. The ones I have now (seen in the previous post) are bought six years ago from a flea market and are about to reach the end of the road. Pic here.
The Sarjaton ("Seriesless") glass and Kartio ("Cone") jug by Iittala, pics from their site.
The Hauska ("Funny") towels and Fantti linen by Finlayson.
The prettiest chopping board I've seen is called Puutarhurin parhaat which means about "The gardener's best" and the cheerful mug Kulkue ("Parade"). Both by Marimekko.
Colourful lights by La Case de Cousin Paul. Pic here.
And finally one of my favourite movies I would like to have at hand, Marie Antoinette. Pic from imdb.

Alive and kicking
Hello there! It's September and I've kissed the summer goodbye. It was a warm and exciting one for me - was in Poland, Romania and Hungary and even got to spend a weekend at our dear summer cottage, picking mushrooms and berries.
I've got so many pictures and so many news it's hard to decide where to start. These pics I took yesterday. A new cardigan - an official sign of autumn. Love that tile red colour! Went to fix up our studio with my dear colleagues around 3 pm - found myself dancing with them at 3 am. Oh well.

Tape Craze
There has been some fuzzing about those Japanese
tapes in Finnish blogs and mags lately. So I had to
get some of my own too! Oh how I dream about big
blank walls and collages... But for the
time being these sweeties will help me to make
some pretty envelopes.

Summer bag
I love this vintage bag I found for summer!
It might seem pretty small but there's even
room for a water bottle - or an umbrella.

Vain
My fragrance is Eden by Cacharel. I've been using it for about seven years and wish they'll never stop making it. It's described like this: "The opening blends luminuous citrus notes. The cold water freshness of water lily in the heart is combined with heady floral notes (tuberose, mimose, jasmine, rose and lily-of-the-valley) and sweet juicy fruits (pineapple and mellon). The water notes are in the perfect harmony with sharp patchouli and warm woody base of cedar, sandal and Tonka bean."
Actually I was a bit surprised after reading about all those ingredients - I gess the final fragrance depends very much on who's skin it's on. I can't find pineapple or mellon but patchouli, sandal and mimosa are strong. Enchanting!
What is your favourite fragrance - bottled or not?

Rust
Lately I've been working as a trainee in a printmaking workshop, pondering about the subject of a thesis (something about the different layers of realities in paintings..?), spending hours of listening to anxious talk at school, arranging hundreds (no kidding!!) of cd's on new shelfs at home and feeling Beatlemania due to a dvd-box. So no time to get rusty, though colours are.

Mocking bird
Decoration magazines are one of my biggest vices. I really fell for that little composition found from the home of Charlotte Adrian, a Danish table ware designer (picture below). I had to do some imitating. My version consists of an Ikea lamp and flea market glass.
(PS. Jos kiinnostuit, niin juttu Adrianin ja hänen miehensä kodista löytyy uusimmasta Divaanista.)

Oatmeal
First I begun to wonder, how many knits in all the shades of oatmeal can a girl have... And now it's happening with tights!

They call her Heather Grey
Sometimes a day can turn out to be perfect,
when you don't expect it at all.
The closest cafe happens to be a cafe of an old
sightseeing tower, built in 1929. They make the best
doughnuts in town - almost as good as my grandma
used to make. Visited it with my dear friend,
went to school to do some printmaking, had a huge
goat cheece sandwich and went out into the
evening sun, air full of oxygen after rain.
Heathers are blooming. There's autumn in the
air and it feels good.

Yerba mate
For some reason,
it's smell reminds me of my grandfather
and the tiny room and a drawer, where
he kept his tobacco and pipe.
